Welcome to Ball State Ballroom!
The Ball State Ballroom Dance League (BSBDL) would like to welcome you! Formed in 2009, it has been our goal to spread the joy and passion of dance with the greater Ball State community
It has been our foremost goal to create a tight-knit team of competitors and dance to our hearts’ content at various collegiate and professional competitions around the Midwest. We were pleasantly surprised when our group spontaneously attracted both competitive and social dancers, both of which we welcome with open arms!
Meeting Times
We generally provide two weekday group lessons at night, as well as have open studio time for competitors and private lessons on the weekends. However, we often have to change our room arrangements to jive with Recreation Services’ schedule (pun definitely intended). To check the most current meeting time, follow this link.
Abundant Studio Time
Still having issues with that waltz box? Fear not, for our Dance Chairman and at least one of our professional coaches are available on the weekends for consultation and private lessons. Weekend open studio and private lessons are FREE for competitive members, so please take advantage of it! For any social dancers who find they want a little extra instruction, weekend studio and dance lessons are available for FREE also (a steal, let me tell you!).
Please check with the Dance Chairman or our beloved coach David McDonald for weekend availability, as both of their schedules get booked very quickly!
Beginners, Fear Not!
Ball State Ballroom is a growing club that welcomes new members, regardless of their prior dance experience. Our instructors have been trained in many styles of ballroom dance (yes, there are multiple), and to work with everyone from beginner- to advanced-level dancers and are more than willing to help in any way they can.
You undoubtedly have numerous questions, to which I refer you to our Beginner’s FAQ.
